Litter C was born, there are 7 healthy pups.
Entles are so smart and such great problem solvers. When Riley was
almost two years old he had a favorite Rabbit toy he had taken
special care of and enjoyed just carrying around. When we brought
home our new pup Elsa, she dug it out of the toy basket and was enjoying munching on it.
We watched as Riley noticed Elsa and his Rabbit. He kept watching her and quickly walked over to the toy basket and rustled through it. Pulling Elsa’s favorite chewy toy out he quickly placed it next to her and was sure to get her attention with it. As she noticed the chewy he nonchalantly grabbed his Rabbit toy and quickly trotted off to hide it in the back of the closet protecting it from the young pup. As we sat in the living room amazed at his excellent problem solving instead of creating a tug of war trying to steal the Rabbit away. He out smarted her by distracting her with something she would want so much more. Taking that knowledge I used that philosophy often while training her any time she tried to grab a pant leg or steal a shoe.
